Fourth grader Kenny’s older brother Byron has been hanging with a tough crowd and getting into trouble, so his parents decide to take him to live for a time with his grandmother down south. Soon, the whole family is crowded into the Brown Bomber, heading back to Alabama – and straight into one of the most shocking moments in American history! For ages 8 and up.

Sunday nights = Bluegrass Jam! Bluegrass and Roots Music… you’ll find the best of it right here at the Station Inn and you won't want to miss a note. All shows are first come, first served. Open Mic is a great place to try out new material, meet other writers, become a part of the songwriting community, and practice your performing skills. We recommend that all new writers play Open Mic here at The Bluebird, as well as at the many other writers clubs in Nashville, on a regular basis. Open Mic Sign up is Monday night at 5:30pm. You must be signed up by 5:45pm. Names are drawn and the line-up is announced at 6:00pm. The show runs 6-9:00pm. Writers get the chance to play two of their own original songs, solo, or accompanied by no more than two others on stage. Drums and backing tracks are not allowed. Call 615.383.1461 for more info.
  • McGuinness Girls Songwriters Night Dan McGuinness, 1538 Demonbreun Street, Nashville, TN 37203 McGuinness Girls Night is a girls singer songwriter night every Monday night at Dan McGuinness Irish Pub on Music Row. Terri Jo Box hosts and books the show and has since it started in May of 2004. It's one of the few" hoppin spots" to be on a Monday night in Nashville. You might hear some Bluegrass, Country, Rock, Pop, Folk and even some Latin music from time to time. On top of providing great entertainment, the event has been used as an outlet to raise money for some worthy causes such as Breast Cancer, Hurricane relief, house fires victims and families in need.   • Dr. Atomic & Mr. Haydn Schermerhorn Symphony Center SunTrust Classical Series presents Nashville Symphony, Giancarlo Guerrero, conductor, and Jonathan Biss, piano. Haydn - Symphony No. 100 in G major, "Military" John Adams - Doctor Atomic Symphony Brahms - Concerto for Piano No. 1 in D minor, Op. 15 Dr. Atomic and Mr. Haydn? Haydn’s 100th Symphony earned its nickname thanks to the martial beat created by the combination of bass drum, triangle and cymbals. Written more than two centuries later, Doctor Atomic Symphony offers a different take on military might: Adapted from John Adams’s opera of the same name, this powerful piece tells the story of Dr. Robert Oppenheimer and the dawning of the nuclear era. Renowned for his impressive technique and deeply felt musicianship, pianist Jonathan Biss will join the orchestra for Brahms’s First Piano Concerto, an expansive work rich with lovely details.

  • Peter and the Wolf TPAC - James K. Polk Theater After performing Peter and the Wolf to a sold-out crowd in February 2011, Nashville Ballet will present the beloved fable to an all-ages crowd again during the upcoming season. In the classic tale, brave young Peter mistakenly leaves his grandfather’s garden gate open, allowing the duck to escape and unleashing an adventure to remember with several other animal characters.

Daniel Bernard Roumain - Symphony for Dancers, Dreamers and Presidents (Nashville Premiere) * Mozart - Concerto for Piano No. 20 in D minor, K.466 Copland - Symphony No. 3 * Commissioned through Sphinx Organization Commissioning Consortium Two unmistakably American voices: Daniel Bernard Roumain says his inventive musical meditation on the President of the United States “should be listened to, could be danced to, and [is] an orchestral event that must be seen.” Copland captured the soul of the nation in his music, and his Symphony No. 3 incorporates his famous Fanfare for the Common Man. In between these two pieces, Angela Hewitt joins the orchestra to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20, one of the composer’s most dramatic works and one of only two he wrote in a minor key.
